Telestatic

I release the majority of my sonic experiments and tracks under the name Telestatic.

There were legal issues and conflicts in using my own name, and even more so when using my initials. The Telestatic idea goes way back to 1981 when I did a series of improvised live soundscape events. The poster and flyers featured a TV screen displaying only noise. The only version I now have of this sacred document is on this page, though the detail is rather poor.

The sessions became known to those involved as the ‘Telly Static’ sessions because of the poster, and I streamlined this to become Telestatic, which I later used occasionally and have now rehydrated for my new releases.
