I have been attached to the world of sound for many decades. Not just my own sound. Your sound and their sound. Small sound and big sound. Recording it, producing it and turning it up so loud that it was impossible to ignore. Punk in warehouses and experimental rock by the river. Playing live and playing half-dead. Backlines and deadlines. Installing it in exhibitions. Adding it to film and video. Procrastination and collaboration. Building studios. Working In studios. Eventually diving into education. Pass it on. Getting feedback from feedback. Notes from notes.
Equipment
No gear list here. Something I brought along from every decade since the mid 70s is around me, somewhere. Where did I put it? Over there, probably. Modern things too, plus one I made earlier. Cutting-edge technology alongside yesterday’s fashion. Still able to catch my breath and go somewhere just that bit different. Make your own way. If it works then it works. And when it doesn’t, then don’t forget to hit ‘record’.
